The New Orleans Saints have been on the lookout for running back depth recently. Star RB Alvin Kamara is suspended for the first three games of the regular season. Kendre Miller left Sunday's preseason win number one with a knee injury. He is expected to miss 1-2 weeks and could be back for the start of the regular season. Regardless, they will probably want another experienced running back on the depth chart.

According to Jeff Duncan, former LSU running back Leonard Fournette isn't a fit for New Orleans, though.

Fournette, at his age, isn't particularly an impressive pass blocker or receiver out of the backfield. The Saints will value that on the search for another RB. They always have, and that won't change.

Fournette played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season, totaling 668 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns. His receiving production was still above average for a running back last season, but that was a proponent of the Bucs offense. They force-fed him – even while he showed inconsistencies. It's unlikely that he would produce in a similar way in the Saints offense.

Not to mention, he is most likely going to carry a higher price tag than other options. If the Saints chose not to pay up for veteran RB Kareem Hunt, they probably won't do it for Fournette, either.
