FOXBORO, Mass. — After beginning New England Patriots training camp as a limited participant on Wednesday and Thursday, Patriots linebacker Matthew Judon remained on the field for the entire practice on Friday.

This was a notable change after there was some fear that he was limited due to contract disputes.

However, he cleared all that up after Friday's session.

"Right now we are just working, me and the training staff and the coaches, working to where when I do practice, I am at a good pace. I can move fast the whole practice," Judon said. "So it’s nothing like that, but it’s much more working on my condition, working on running, and making sure I am where I need to be.”

“I’m definitely not going to talk about contracts with y’all,” Judon added with a smile when speaking to reporters. “I’m happy that I’m here. I’m happy that I’m a Patriot. And then wherever that goes, it goes. The market changes every day."

Jones is entering the third year of his contract with the Patriots, currently on a four-year, $56 million deal.

While his efforts certainly warrant the Patriots to give him more money, if nothing else, than as an incentive to stay in New England for a while, Judon is focused on football at the moment.

“It’s football. This is what I love to do. I get release out here, like emotional, physical, release out here. And then I’m just out here with my friends. I got so many friends out here and we just have fun from offense to defense, and we hang out, but we also compete," Judon said. "I’m a competitor at heart."

And just to prove how much of a competitor he is, Judon explained that there is one game he will no longer play.

“I hate playing rocks, paper, scissors because I lose so I don’t even play that no more,” Judon said. “I’m a competitor through and through, and I want to be out here competing and showing.”

Prior to Friday's session, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was asked about Judon being limited despite not being placed on the physically unable to perform list. However, he did not give anything away.

"Yeah, we have different players that are at different stages of participation," Belichick said. "Those injury reports aren’t coming out for a while."

But regardless of what is happening, the four-time Pro Bowler has made it clear that he would like to stay in New England for the rest of his career if possible.

“Everything has made it to where I feel like I want to stay here for the rest of my career, but if that’s not in the cards, that’s not in the cards,” Judon said. “I don’t get to choose that, I just get to tell y’all how I feel.”
