The Tennessee Vols have been the victims of some negative recruiting this offseason due to the offense that Josh Heupel runs in Knoxville.

Essentially, other programs are tying to sell to recruits that Tennessee, despite leading the nation in scoring last season, doesn't effectively prepare offensive players for the NFL.

That narrative has mostly come from opposing coaches, fan bases, and various sports media outlets.

NFL coaches, however, don't seem to have any concerns about taking offensive players from Tennessee.

In fact, New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll, who fought to trade up for Tennessee wide receiver Jalin Hyatt in the 2023 NFL Draft (Hyatt was selected by the Giants in the third round), made it clear on Friday during a media session with reporters that the criticisms of Heupel's offense are overblown.

"I mean, I wouldn't say it's really that different," said Daboll when asked about Heupels' offense. "I know everybody — I think Josh does a fantastic job there. Runs a lot of good football plays. He executed them well, Jalin did. Everybody runs a different offense. It's not exactly the same, but Josh has had a pretty dynamic offense ever since he's coached."

When an NFL head coach makes that comment about Tennessee's offense, it should pretty much shut down every bit of criticism floating around out there.

Daboll just took the Giants to the playoffs in his first year as an NFL head coach. He found incredible success as the Buffalo Bills' offensive coordinator and helped develop quarterback Josh Allen.

And he even spent a year as Alabama's offensive coordinator in 2017. In other words, Daboll has the credentials to speak on this topic. And I'd say that what Daboll has to offer on the subject supersedes anything that fans, random writers, or anonymous college coaches have to say.
