Bank of America Stadium will be front and center on a national stage in September before the Carolina Panthers even play a down of football.

The Panthers open the 2023 season on the road against the Atlanta Falcons before returning to Charlotte to take on the New Orleans Saints in Week two.

Ahead of the start of the regular season, however, Bank of America Stadium will be the site of a huge showdown between the North Carolina Tar Heels and the South Carolina Gamecocks.

The border battle will take place on September 2 at 7:30 PM ET.

On Monday, ESPN announced that College GameDay, the network's traveling college football pregame show, will be in Charlotte for the matchup between North Carolina and South Carolina.

This will be the fourth time that College GameDay has been to Charlotte. The show previously visited Bank of American Stadium for the ACC Championship game in 2017 and 2020. College GameDay also came to Charlotte in 2021 for Georgia's matchup against Clemson.

Charlotte is unique in that it sits in the footprint of the SEC and the ACC, making the Queen City an ideal location for neutral site matchups between programs from both conferences.
