DeAndre Hopkins is officially a Tennessee Titan. He signed his deal on Monday, and he's ready to get to work. As for choosing Tennessee, Hopkins gives a nod to his connection with the team's staff. Hopkins played for the Houston Texans during Mike Vrabel's stint as the team's linebackers coach.
Now, he's the head coach of the Titans, and his impact on Hopkins has not been forgotten over the years. The new Titans wideout thinks that Vrabel will help him reach his ceiling as a veteran in Tennessee. It's
“Vrabel is a straight-shooter, and over my career he has always checked in on me… Even when I was in Houston, he was a defensive coach, but he would still check on me just to see how I was doing — that always stuck with me, and I always wanted to be around people like that. I always wanted to be somewhere where I knew I could maximize my potential, not just as a player, but as DeAndre. It's important that Vrabel gets these type of comments from proven talents around the league. Fellow stars will want to play for the HC and the Titans if they know that he cares for his players as human beings. For Hopkins, he will step into the WR1 role immediately in Tennessee. It'll be intriguing to see if he can put together another Pro Bowl-level season in his career.
