The Tennessee Titans unveiled their Oilers throwback uniforms earlier this week which the team will wear for two home games this season in place of the light blue "Titans" jerseys.

Designed to honor the franchise's history and former players while paying homage to the Luv Ya' Blue era, everything about these throwbacks is perfect. They are clean, classic, and current all at the same time while complimented by one of the best football helmets ever.

Watching Derrick Henry, Kevin Byard, Jeffery Simmons and the Titans take the field at Nissan Stadium in those threads is going to be great…But the Titans have a chance to make this even better.

With as good as these uniforms are, I'd like to see Tennessee do some redesigning of the playing surface at Nissan Stadium to match. The Titans are already transitioning from natural grass to synthetic turf in 2023, so why not add some pop to the field while you're at it? I'm talking colorful, "Columbia Blue" endzones with the vintage Oilers writing and an oil derrick at the 50-yard line. I want the padded walls around the stadium to say "Luv Ya' Blue!" and display the throwback logo to match the jerseys.

I want all of it. For two weekends this season, I want fans to walk into Nissan Stadium and feel like they're about to see Warren Moon and Bruce Matthews beat up on an AFC Central rival.

If I'm being honest, I'd like to see the Titans have colorful endzones all the time – even when they're not rocking throwback uniforms. The Titans' two-tone blue and red colorway is just too good, but I'll settle for the classic Oilers designs if I can't have all eight home games.

I'm a sucker for some good team branding. The best stadiums in sports are those that are easily identifiable and relatable to a team's identity. That means team logos, colors, and slogans all over. Whether I'm sitting on my couch or standing at the 50-yard line, I want the home-field advantage to be palpable.

U.S. Bank Stadium in Minnesota, AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati, and Highmark Stadium in Buffalo all have the right idea.

Pair these beautiful blue throwbacks with a playing surface just as clean and the Titans will have something really magical. I can't be the only one that would love to see that happen.
