The Detroit Lions pass rush has been an interesting discussion this offseason. There's a lot of questions out there about who's going to be the running mate with Aidan Hutchinson on the other side of the line? Is it going to be the fully healthy Romeo Okwara? What about last years bis surprise James Houston? Maybe it's John Cominsky?

This has been discussed all this time and it seems like the man we all keep forgetting to mention is Charles Harris. What happened to Charles Harris? The former first round pick came to Detroit in 2021 after bouncing around in Atlanta and Miami and put up a career year with 7.5 sacks. The season was so good that the Lions decided to sign Harris to a two year extension after the season.

Harris was expected to be the guy on the other side of Hutchinson in 2022. There were even mentions of it during Hard Knocks when Hutchinson could be seen and heard pumping up Harris and saying something to the effect of them being too good to not be elite.

Things didn't work out though. Harris would only wind up playing six games in 2022 and was placed on injured reserve in November. He missed the rest of the season. Since then, the discussion has almost felt like the team is moving on without him. On Tuesday, Dan Campbell told everyone to not forget about him.

"I would say this about Charles man you know, lets' not forget about Charles you know." Campbell said. "He's coming off the injury, we lost him last year.  I mean, this guy's a man on a mission and he's another guy I can't wait, as we go through camp, because you can tell he's ready. He's been going now. So it's good to have him back too."

Campbell also mentioned that Harris has been starting at Sam linebacker at camp so far. So it would seem as though things are back on track for him at this point. James Houston is coming though and after his rookie year, he could be a real threat to take that spot.

We'll see soon once the pads go on if Harris is able to get back to the guy that he was in 2021. If he is, he won't be the forgotten man on this defense for much longer. He could play a a major role on the Lions defense and this pass rush can get to where it needs to be.
