It has been a busy offseason for the AFC East.
And especially for the New York Jets, who signed MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
While Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots faced Rodgers last season, falling 27-24 to the Green Bay Packers in early October, they now have to go against him twice.
"He's obviously a great player. Right now we're just focused on our training camp and just trying to get our team to do things the best we possibly can," Belichick said. "Can't worry too much about the 31 other teams."
"Every team's added players, drafted players, added players to their roster. No roster is the same as it was last year. All 32 are different," Belichick added. "We have a couple other teams on our schedule ahead of them that we have to deal with, but when we get to the Jets, we get to the Jets."
The Patriots first face the Jets at MetLife Stadium on Sept. 24, getting their first glimpse at Rodgers in the green and white jersey. They will then end the season against New York at Gillette Stadium on Jan. 7.
Rodgers is entering his 19th season in the league, having spent the prior 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers. There he recorded 5,001 completions with 59,055 yards and 475 touchdowns, along with 105 interceptions.
His football skills combined with his immense knowledge provides the Jets with an edge that they have not had in a while, making them a serious threat to the Patriots.
