The Tennessee Vols have gotten plenty of talent pushed into the NFL in the past few seasons. Former Vols quarterback Jarrett Guarantano has not locked down a role in the league yet, and he may be running out of time. He's spent time with both the Arizona Cardinals and Denver Broncos, but he hasn't recorded any stats in the regular season.
For the most part, he's been a practice squad QB in his time in the NFL. Today, it was announced that the Broncos cut Guarantano. They chose to keep three other QBs around as for now, and he was the odd man out.
Now, he will look for another backup opportunity in the NFL, and it may be tough as he hasn't proven anything in the league so far. Guarantano is 25 years old. He could be a practice squad candidate elsewhere in the league, but it is an uphill battle for him.
The former Tennessee starter struggled at times for the Vols. Guarantano dealt with a handful of injuries, and it just never worked out for him in Knoxville. It was a time of plenty of uneasiness for the Vols with that staff, and his inconsistencies were another example of that. Guarantano finished his college career at Washington State.
