It's been well-documented that Jimmy Graham wanted to return to the New Orleans Saints. The two sides even had discussions about that possibility during last season, but nothing came to fruition. This offseason is a different story, though. Graham wasn't going to play anywhere except for New Orleans, and the Saints felt like he would be a smart addition for the team. His veteran presence has been a positive for the team so far.

How committed was Graham to making his return to The Big Easy, though? Now, we know that Graham piloted his own flight to go sign his deal with the organization.

NOFNetwork's Nick Underhill says that Graham has carved out a role for the offense, most likely in short yardage and contested catch situations. Even at 36 years old, he still looms at 6'7" and can make plays against smaller defenders. He thinks that he will make the team.

At his age, it will take some time for him to get on track with the offense after taking last season off. That being said, adding another experienced player to your tight end room is never a bad scenario. The trio of Graham, Juwan Johnson, and Foster Moreau provides a lot of intrigue and connection to QB Derek Carr.
