The Dallas Cowboys saw one of the greatest players in their history, edge rusher DeMarcus Ware, go into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday.

These days, the Cowboys have another menace that will be heading to Canton someday if his career keeps going the way it is, and that's All-Pro linebacker/edge rusher, Micah Parsons. However, the former first-round pick wants to take it a step further.

Parsons doesn't want to just make the Hall of Fame. He wants to be seen as the cream of the crop, even among other greats.

"When you talk about great careers, [when] you talk about the Hall of Fame, like I don't think I just want to make the Hall of Fame. I just want to be known as one of the greatest Hall of Famers," Parsons said. "There's categories to everything. There's good. There's great and there's like, perfect. … When you talk about me, I don't want to just be mentioned in the Hall of Fame. Yeah, that's a great accolade, but I want to be one of the greatest in the Hall of Fame."

Parsons has gotten off to a great start to make that a reality.

In his first two seasons, Parsons has earned back-to-back first-team All-Pro selections thanks in large part to his 26.5 sacks, 157 pressures, 100 hurries, and 56 quarterback hits. But Parsons is still a bully going sideline to sideline as a linebacker as well, making him the most impactful defensive player the Cowboys have.

It isn't hard to see how naturally gifted Parsons is. However, like any player coming into the NFL, guidance is needed, and Parsons has gotten that from Ware during his first couple of seasons in the league, starting two summers ago when they worked on some things.

The former Penn State Nittany Lion spoke on Ware reaching football heaven.

"Talk about a guy that set the standard. Twenty-sack seasons, I mean a guy who's just outright dominated in his prime and went out in the right way," said Parsons. "I couldn't be more excited for him. I thought he was a first-ballot guy. A guy that I looked up to. His IQ, bro, anytime you just talk to him about football, when he just came in that one day, I just learned so much. And he just really grabs the room, and man, when you talk about handwork and technical and soundness, that guy is the epitome of that."

If Parsons continues to follow the path the Ware laid, he'll undoubtedly be fitted for a gold jacket five years after he retires.
