Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is seemingly always under the microscope. That obviously comes with the territory of being the face of America's Team, but things can get out of hand at times.

Which was the case this week. Prescott and Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs were seen exchanging some trash talk after the offense scored on the defense in practice. The competitive fire was turned into a national narrative rather quickly.

The story went from being friendly fire into some made up beef. Fortunately, both Prescott and Diggs shot that down fast. But that hasn't stopped Prescott from continuing to hand out trash talk.

He continued to show off his competitive spirt in practice following the harmless incident. The Cowboys quarterback first went after cornerback Kelvin Joseph after throwing a touchdown.

Prescott threw a dime to wide receiver CeeDee Lamb for the score with Joseph in coverage. After the play, Prescott looked at Joseph and exchanged some words with him.

It didn't stop there. Instead, Prescott continued throughout the practice as the offense battled the defense. The offense won reps, while the defense also made some plays, too.

The trash talk came from both sides of the coin, just as it did with Prescott and Diggs. Then, Prescott scored on a quarterback sneak and shared some words with linebacker Leighton Vander Esch in the end zone.

This is who Prescott is: a competitive player that the rest of the team feeds off of. He realizes that the team needs an edge as they gear up for the preseason and regular season action.

“I feel like it makes practice fun," Diggs said of the trash talk. "At the end of the day, that’s my brother. I love Dak to death. There nothing behind it. It’s just competitiveness, it’s just football.”

In the meantime, Prescott is going to continue exchanging competitive fire with his teammates and possibly trolling the national media all at the same time.
