The Tennessee Titans are less than a week away from their first preseason game. With the season quickly approaching, the team will soon have some tough decisions to make.
There will be plenty of new faces on both sides of the ball for the Titans in 2023. With a new GM, this is expected, as Carthon will want his own guys more often than not.
With that being said, I wanted to take a look at a few veterans who could be on the way out this summer.
Chris Jackson, DB

Jackson is a familiar face for Titans fans. The former Marshall defensive back has been with the team since being selected in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
While impressive that Jackson has stuck around this long, he has never really impressed when put into action. Add in that the competition in the secondary has been competitive this summer and Jackson was not a Ran Carthon selection, and Jackson could be on the way out.
Jackson would likely need to beat out Tre Avery, who is a breakout candidate in 2023.
Ben Niemann, LB

I know Niemann was just brought in this offseason, but I think the veteran could be the victim of a roster crunch. Niemann has mostly been a reserve piece in his career, but he actually performed well in nine starts for the Cardinals in 2022.
However, barring injury, the Titans are set with Monty Rice and Azeez Al-Shaair on the inside. Special teams ace Luke Gifford was also brought in this offseason on a two-year deal and seems likely to crack the team. The final spot will likely be between Niemann, Jack Gibbens, and Chance Campbell.
I know that Carthon didn't bring in Campbell or Gibbens, but both have flashed in camp and would be cheaper depth options over Niemann.
Corey Levin, OL

Levin is another guy that Titans fans are very familiar with. Levin was originally drafted by the team in 2017 and released after the 2018 season. Levin bounced around the league in 2019 and 2020 before reuniting with the Titans in 2021.
Levin has filled in admirably when needed but has never excelled at any point. Andre Dillard, Peter Skoronski, Aaron Brewer, Daniel Brunskill, and Chris Hubbard will likely be the starters until Nicholas Petit-Frere comes back from suspension.
The depth linemen include Jimmy Murray, Dillon Radunz, Jaelyn Duncan, Justin Murray, and Xavier Newman, among others. This group could be too deep for Levin to crack.
Titans: Tyjae Spears shows the moves to quiet some of his biggest doubters
The rookie RB doesn’t seem to have any limitations at training camp.
