The Dallas Cowboys have made some key roster moves this offseason in hopes of getting over the postseason hump. Which includes trading for established veterans such as Stephon Gilmore at corner and Brandin Cooks at wide receiver.

Another key move that was made by the Cowboys was to move on from running back Ezekiel Elliott. Dallas closed the book on that era, at least for now, and Tony Pollard is set to lead the backfield moving forward.

But that hasn't stopped the media from linking the Cowboys to other high-profile backs. Former Minnesota Vikings star Dalvin Cook is a free agent and looking to sign, presumably, for a team that can contend for a championship.

Cook is visiting the New York Jets, so a deal could get done there. The Miami Dolphins are another team worth watching. But the star rusher did speak about his potential interest in playing for the Cowboys.

More specifically, Cook likes the idea of teaming up with Pollard in the backfield. Additionally, he noted that Dallas has been on the cusp but still looking to take that next step.

“Dallas has been right there, just need to turn that page the last few years," Cook said on ESPN. "(Pollard) is a great running back, just partnering up with a great running back, a great running mate, it would be good, hey I don’t know.”

It doesn't make the most logical sense for the Cowboys to invest more money at the running back position. Not only did the Cowboys release Elliott, but they also franchise-tagged Pollard, only locking him in for the 2023 season.

Still, at least in an alternate NFL world, it's fun to think about Cook wearing The Star.
