Former Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott visited the New England Patriots on Saturday.

Well, Ezekiel Elliott decided to spend the night following Saturday's visit with the New England Patriots. According to Christopher Price, who covers the Patriots for The Boston Globe, Zeke remains in town.

Price also reported the visit went "very well." On Saturday, reports emerged on both sides having "mutual interest" between the two parties.

Earlier on Sunday, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick declined to comment on the veteran running back's visit, claiming that he wasn't on the team. The Pats have also shown interest in Dalvin Cook

Elliott was released by the Dallas Cowboys earlier this year as a cap casualty. With Tony Pollard rising as one of the best running backs in the league in 2022, the franchise that once signed him to a $90 million contract moved on to open up over $10 million in cap space.

While Zeke isn't the same explosive back that he was earlier in his career, he can still be a solid No. 2 to Rahmondre Stevenson. Elliott is still one of the best running backs in the league in short-yardage situations, scoring 12 rushing touchdowns for the Cowboys in 2022 and 10 in 2021.

But where offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien would likely enjoy Zeke the most is in pass-protection assignments. Elliott's physicality and technique have stood out in this area of the game since he arrived at the NFL in 2016 and it remains one of his biggest strengths to this day.

"I'm surprised that no one has touched him," NFL legend Emmitt Smith told Jason McCourty on Good Morning Football back in May. The Patriots may be close to changing that.
