The New Orleans Saints held their first padded training practice on Monday, and they got a bit of a scare.
Starting left guard, Andrus Peat was seen leaving the field after suffering a quad injury. Fortunately, it appears that it's not serious as it's been diagnosed as just a strain.
Peat is one of the better guards in the NFL and has racked up three Pro Bowl nods. However, he's missed the equivalent of a full season (17 games) over the last two years and he's never played in every game since entering the league in 2015.
The Saints are a little thin on the interior of their offensive line so they'll need Peat more than ever in 2023, especially with Derek Carr now playing quarterback.
Luckily, it appears Peat will just need to take it easy for a while.
