The Jacksonville Jaguars moved into the Miller Electric Center last month. A $120 million state-of-the-art facility spread out over 4 acres with an indoor practice field, two outdoor practice fields, fan amenities areas, offices, and meeting rooms, it's a place that has it all.
And that really doesn't begin to tell the half of it.
NFL Network's Scott Hanson toured the facility, and he posted a video on Twitter (X) of a very interesting – and unusual – feature to keep up with players' hydration levels.
There have been many ways that trainers and coaches have been able to monitor athletes' health over the years. Heart monitors. Breathing apparatuses. Blood and urine lab tests.
Well, now one aspect is done simply with a light at the urinal, and it's as simple as green, yellow, or red, apparently. That's a new one to this author.
Teams are always looking for an edge. A way to make sure they stay ahead of the competition. And hey, Florida is very, very hot in the summer and dehydration is a legitimate concern. So, in the sense of utility, it makes sense.
The Jaguars coaches now hope the light turns green for its offense on Sundays on the field – and during the week in the bathrooms.
