Few things make a fan feel better than hearing a rookie is clicking with his new team, especially when it comes before the season actually starts.

Good news for Green Bay Packers fans, that is exactly what is happening with rookie wide receiver Jayden Reed.

The Packers as a whole have a very young wide receiver room. Along with rookie Jayden Reed, they have a number second-year players in Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Bo Melton, and Samori Toure. Dontayvion Wicks, Malik Heath, and Grant Dubose are fellow rookies.

A to Z Sports' very own, Evan Winter highlighted the slot receiver battle heading into training camp; and by all camps at camp it might already be wrapped up.

In college Reed was targeted in the slot 17 times, he capitalized on that and turned those 17 targets into 16 receptions for 187 yards and two touchdowns. Those number led the team in yards per route run (2.37) and they were good enough to rank 53rd among the 198 receivers who qualified (minimum 17 slot targets).

On the unofficial depth chart the Packers do have Samori Toure listed ahead of him, but like the title of that depth chart says; it's unofficial, so it is unwise to put a significant amount of stock into it. The Packers have also been known to list players as such due to seniority, so it's another reason to take it with a grain of salt.

All things considered, Reed should be the No. 1 slot WR when the season starts and it's exciting to think about what he can do in the Packers offense.
