Denver has been in the national spotlight for all the wrong reasons. Head coach Sean Payton had an explosive interview calling out Nathanial Hackett, DE Eyioma Uwazurike was suspended for gambling before it was ultimately reported of some pending criminal charges, and the team has been battling a rash of injuries.
While some of those things are completely out of the organization's hands, it's not stopping them from trying to right some of the wrongs and find some solutions. Specifically, adding some more WRs to pair with Russell Wilson.
Mike Klis from 9News reported that the team held workouts today for WR Ra'Shaun Henry and J.J. Koski ahead of their preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals.
Henry played college football in Saint Francis PA from 2016-2020 before moving on and playing from 2020-2022 with the University of Virginia. In total, across 54 games played, Henry started 19 of those which resulted in 150 receptions for 2168 yards and 17 touchdowns.
Henry spent time with the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons before joining the Cleveland Browns and getting cut. Most recently, Henry was on the field for two offensive snaps and five special teams snaps.
As for Koski, he was a member of the Col Poly Mustangs for 5 seasons. Koski finished his collegiate career with 121 receptions for 2311 yards and 18 touchdowns before going undrafted. The Los Angeles Rams signed the undrafted rookie where he was active for five games in 2021 which included two punt returns for 20 yards and five kick returns for 89 yards.
While longshots to make the roster, Payton is doing all he can to bring in competition and give these guys a chance to compete. The job is theirs for the taking, they just have to come in and earn it.
