The Dallas Cowboys desperately needed a kick returner last season, and they brought in former USFL MVP KaVontae Turpin to fill that role.

Dallas got an immediate return on their investment when Tuprin ran a kickoff and a punt back for touchdowns against the Los Angeles Chargers in the preseason. He would then go on to make the Pro Bowl as a returner.

As good as that was, the Cowboys won't have him returning kicks during the preseason. Instead, he'll get more action at wide receiver.

Turpin only logged 62 offensive snaps last season. The results weren't great by any means as he only caught one pass for nine yards and gained 17 yards on three rushing attempts.

The speed and elusiveness of Turpin are just too good not to try and get him the ball on offense, especially out in space where he can use his attributes the most. So, it would be foolish for the Cowboys to pretty much only have him on special teams for the second straight year.

In Thursday's practice, Turpin even got some work at running back, which shows the Cowboys are finally trying to take advantage of the weapon that he can be.
