Will the Steelers play the starters?

As Mike Tomin told reporters at his pre-game presser:

"All that are healthy are scheduled to play at this juncture, how much they’ll play is to be determined,” Tomlin said. “I lean toward playing but I respect that there are many different approaches, But in general, if we’re going to box, we better spar.”

So expect a regular season game atmosphere to start, but it will be a tease of what's to come in September.

Who will be the Starting Slot WR?

The battle between Calvin Austin III and Allen Robinson II has been intriguing to watch this camp, with the two of them battling to see who will be the team's most viable option out of the slot.

Austin is the more dynamic of the two, but Robinson has formed a bond with starting quarterback Kenny Pickett making me think he will get the nod.

Who performs best in the reps they receive will be an important variable in this equation.

3 Players to watch

  • WR Hakeem Butler: It's hard to miss Butler when he's on the field. Partially because he wears number 21 as a WR, but mainly because he is nearly 6'6" and towers over the rest of the WR corps. Don't be surprised if he goes up and grabs a few passes late in the game.
  • EDGE Nick Herbig: Herbig has been fun to watch all camp. The rookie pass rusher has put tackles and guards through the ringer this August, and I expect him to be even more juiced against another team.
  • CB Joey Porter Jr: One of the more anticipated debuts on the roster, Peezy Jr, has had a terrific camp in coverage but is proving a little green when it comes to tackling. He's going to want to answer any questions about his physicality and maybe add an interception or two.
