A former Titan has found himself in hot water in another country.

Former CB Buster Skrine was arrested in Canada after authorities claim he fraudulently obtained more than $100,000.00 from banks across Canada.

NFL reporter Dov Kleiman reported the news. From the report:

Police said Wednesday that Skrine had attended "numerous financial institutions" recently in order to illegally obtain cash. They claimed as part of his scheme, Skrine would identify himself as a retired NFL player, open bank accounts with fraudulent checks, and then obtain a portion of the dough before the check cleared. They said Skrine did this at multiple locations in the Durham Region … adding that they had "reason to believe" he had pulled similar scams all across Canada.

This is an unfortunate situation for Skrine who is now facing at least 14 charges in Canada. His bail amount has not been revealed by police. It is unclear why Skrine was in Canada. It appears he was arrested at the Pearson International Airport in Toronto while attempting to get back to the United States.

Skrine has been out of the NFL since announcing his retirement just over a year ago. The veteran corner originally latched on with the Titans in November 2021 and became a valuable fill-in corner.

Skrine was re-signed after the 2021 season and was expected to compete for a spot on last season's roster before ultimately retiring.

The corner out of Chattanooga ended up having an 11-year career, playing for five teams and collecting 10 career interceptions. Skrine played in six games as a Titan, starting in three, and finishing with one interception and six tackles.
