The Tennessee Vols will take on the Florida Atlantic Owls on Thursday night in a Sweet 16 matchup.

This will be the Vols' first Sweet 16 trip since 2018-19 when Tennessee lost in overtime to Purdue.

Earlier this week, Vols forward Uros Plavsic met with reporters and he made some comments about Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes that every UT fan should hear.

"It really means a lot (to advance in the NCAA Tournament), you know, especially for this corps and for Coach Barnes, because this program, what it gives to the athletes and the way we’re being treated here, I don’t think you can find that anywhere in the country," said Plavsic. "The way Coach Barnes loves his players, and how hard he is on us coaching-wise, it just shows you he really loves you and he wants the best for you. At this time of year, as much as we’re doing it for ourselves, we’re doing it for him and this program.”

It's clear that Tennessee's players have a lot of love for Barnes and an extreme amount of respect for the way he pushes his players. Barnes has a reputation for being an old-school coach that isn't afraid to hold his players accountable publicly.

There's been some speculation that players aren't fans of the way Barnes holds players accountable during media sessions, but Plavsic's comments pretty much destroy that narrative.
