Things have cooled down around Halas Hall after the Chicago Bears had a free agent frenzy of their own last week.
With most major positions of need having already been addressed, the Bears are now looking to add depth to its much-improved roster. As Chicago looks to add supplementary pieces to the team, the Bears hosted veteran LB Dylan Cole on a visit on Wednesday, per Field Yates.
Cole, 28, has six seasons of NFL experience, spending his first four seasons with the Houston Texans. Cole followed the Mike Vrabel pipeline to the Tennessee Titans, which is where he has played out his last two seasons in the league.
In 2022, Cole played in 15 games, logging eight starts, and compiled 64 tackles, four tackles for loss and one sack. Cole was signed as a rotational linebacker with a primary role on special teams, but was forced to start due to countless injuries in the Titans’ linebacker room.
If Chicago is to sign Cole, he would slot in nicely right behind Tremaine Edmunds and Jack Sanborn. He offers a hard-nosed approach to the linebacker position and still carries a chip on his shoulder from going undrafted out of Missouri State in 2017.
