Tennessee Vols head coach Josh Heupel has received plenty of endorsements from former UT players over the last two years.

From Peyton Manning to Heath Shuler and Al Wilson, it seems like every former Vol is a big fan of Heupel.

But another endorsement never hurts, right?

Earlier this offseason, Tennessee hired former Vols defensive lineman Robert Ayers Jr as a graduate assistant.

Ayers played at Tennessee from 2004 to 2008. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos with the No. 18 overall selection in the 2009 NFL Draft. Ayers spent nine seasons in the NFL before his retirement.

On Wednesday, Ayers sent a tweet expressing his feelings about Tennessee's current coaching staff.

Ayers wrote that he could tell from watching as a fan that the Vols were building something special with Heupel, defensive coordinator Tim Banks, and special teams coordinator Mike Ekeler.

Joining the staff confirmed those feelings for Ayers.

Tennessee struck gold by hiring Heupel. He has to continue to produce teams that play at a high level — and that won't be easy in the SEC — but it certainly appears that Heupel has what it takes to put a consistent winner on the field in Knoxville.
