One of the top prospects in the 2023 NFL Draft may have given away the Green Bay Packers' draft plans on Friday.

The top prospects in the draft are in Indianapolis this week for the NFL Draft combine, where they're showing their athletic abilities and also meeting with teams.

One of those players, Ohio State wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, met with the Packers this week and he spoke about that meeting with reporters on Friday.

Smith-Njigba told reporters that he met with Green Bay on Tuesday.

And he came away from that meeting feeling like the Packers are "definitely looking for a receiver".

There's no doubt that Green Bay could use another wide receiver. Christian Watson emerged last season as a potential NFL star. And Romeo Doubs showed enough last season that he should be in the Packers' plans moving forward.

Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb, meanwhile, are both set to hit free agency.

Cobb underwent surgery on his ankle recently. His future with the team is questionable at best (Cobb, who will turn 33 later this summer, could potentially retire).

Lazard is a candidate to return to Green Bay, though he could seek a larger contract elsewhere.

Even if Lazard and/or Cobb return, the Packers could still use another wide receiver. Adding a dynamic wide receiver to the roster would allow Doubs (or Lazard if he's re-signed) to settle into a more complementary No. 3 wide receiver role. It would also give Green Bay some much-needed depth at the position.

The Packers have the No. 15 pick in the first round. That's probably too high to take a wide receiver. If they're interested in Smith-Njigba, they'd be best served to trade back a few spots.

We should know more about how the Packers plan to attack the draft after the first wave of free agency (and, of course, after we hear Aaron Rodgers' decision).

Whether it's via free agency or the draft, it sounds like Green Bay will definitely be working to add at least one wide receiver to the roster this offseason.
