Cowboys: Pac-12 QB prospect wants to work closely with Dak Prescott
Cowboys fans should be keeping a close eye on this NFL Draft prospect.
The Dallas Cowboys have become a case study when it comes to the importance of having quality backup quarterbacks.
The two franchise quarterbacks that have kept the team relevant for almost two decades arrived as an undrafted free agent (Tony Romo) and a fourth-round comp pick (Dak Prescott).
And what about last year?
If it weren't for Cooper Rush, the 2022 season could've ended very differently for Dallas. Even though he wasn't the reason why the team kept winning, he did just enough for the Cowboys to go 4-1 and keep the season alive.
Rush is set to hit free agency and it's unclear if he'll re-sign with the Cowboys. It will be a decision made even more intriguing as the team shifts to Mike McCarthy as the offensive mastermind of the team.
If the Cowboys want to pursue a different option, there's one quarterback that would love to work with Dak Prescott: Dorian Thompson-Robinson.

The gritty Pac-12 standout talked about his relationship with Dak Prescott during the NFL Scouting Combine and why he'd love to end up in Dallas.
"Just being able to lean on his experience and the things that he's gone through," DTR told reporters on Friday. "And all that he's learned with his process of going through the Draft and all his years in the league."
He also mentioned the Cowboys have a lot of offensive talent that he'd love to work with as a passer. Per Patrik Walker, who writes for the team, the quarterback has met with the Cowboys.
Thompson-Robinson is likely to be available late in the NFL Draft. The Cowboys have six Day 3 draft picks to work with if they're interested in taking a shot at DTR.
"While there is work to be done as a passer, there is no denying Thompson-Robinson has a fascinating skill set that an NFL team may want to get their hands on," writes Brentley Weissman of The Draft Network.
