The Dallas Cowboys have to make decisions on a plethora of in-house free agents, around 20.

Dallas also has to decide what to do with a few guys still on the roster, and one of them is defensive tackle, Neville Gallimore.

Gallimore has been talked about as a possible cut candidate recently. However, NFL insider Jordan Schultz says that won't be the case.

Gallimore was drafted in the third round in 2020. It took a while during his rookie campaign but he eventually showed the quick punch off the line of scrimmage and power that made him a Day 2 pick for Dallas.

It's been a rocky journey since for Gallimore.

His progress got derailed by a dislocated elbow that happen during the preseason of his second year. Gallimore only played in five games and registered 13 tackles and 1.5 sacks.

When the 2022 season rolled around,  Gallimore was expected to take the next step. He played in 16 games but only had one start. Also, his play wasn't up to par with how he played in his first year.

Once the Cowboys entered the playoffs to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Gallimore was a healthy scratch. Although he played a week later against the San Francisco 49ers, Gallimore only logged 20 snaps and tallied one tackle.

So, if Gallimore remains on the Cowboys roster in 2023, he'll need to establish himself as a dominant force on the interior like he was expected to when he was drafted.

With linebacker Micah Parsons and defensive ends DeMarcus Lawrence, Dorance Armstrong, and Sam Williams on the team, the Cowboys defense can get pressure from the edge. But, they need more in the middle, and it's time for Gallimore to reach to next plateau in his development.
