When Micah Parsons was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys they immediately became one of the best defenses in the NFL.
After leading the NFL in turnovers in 2021, the Cowboys finished first in turnovers again this past season and they were also third in sacks with 54, due in large part to Parsons continuing to be a force.
Parsons garnered his second consecutive first-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl nods last season, and as a result, Pro Football Focus named him the fifth-best player in their top 101 players list for 2022.
"It’s worth remembering that this was Parsons' first full-time season as an edge rusher. He was immediately one of the best in the game, dominating lesser opponents and beating some of the best tackles in the game for their first sacks allowed this season."
Parsons went on another sack tour last season. He recorded multiple sacks in each of the first two games and totaled six games of such for the season. Parsons ended up with 13.5 sacks on the year, 26 quarterback hits, 13 tackles for loss, three passes defended, three forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries.
When Parsons wasn't bringing quarterbacks down he was still making their lives a living nightmare. Parsons racked up 61 hurries and 90 pressures which were tied for the most in the NFL.
The former first-round pick played 738 snaps as an edge rusher and led the NFL pass rush win rate at 30%. Also, Parsons logged 171 snaps at linebacker as well as eight snaps at cornerback. Simply put, the man is a cyborg in shoulder pads.
It's been a joy for all football fans to watch Parsons destroy offensive linemen, and the fact that he didn't do much rushing the passer during his days at Penn State makes his NFL production even more amazing.
