The Kansas City Chiefs just made a major move to their coaching staff for the first time in several years. Since 2019, the Chiefs have had the same coordinators for the most part, which is the summer they brought in Steve Spagnuolo.

Now Eric Bieniemy is gone on a quest to prove himself, which left the Chiefs with an open position to fill on the staff. With Matt Nagy, a former head coach, and former offensive coordinator, on the staff as a quarterbacks coach, it was an easy decision to make in terms of who would be elevated.

But, fans aren't completely happy with the decision. Since Nagy left Kansas City the first time around, he has been fired as the head coach of the Chicago Bears. Now he is back trying to show he can still coach.

Based on the way things went with the Bears, I'm not surprised he has gotten the reaction he has. But, Nagy is getting the support of some coaches around the league, including Doug Pederson, another disciple from the Andy Reid tree.

"He's back to somewhere that's familiar," Pederson said recently at an award show. "It's a lot like when I got the head job in Philly. It's going back to a place that I was very familiar with and so for Coach Nagy to come back here, you know, and obviously be the position coach and now being the coordinator again, there's familiarity and there's confidence with that and he's gonna do an outstanding job.

"Obviously, he's got a great mentor in coach Reid he's also been a head coach in this league, so he knows what it takes and you know, he and I stay in touch, we're good friends and I just wish him the best."

If other guys around the league, other head coaches at that respect him as much as they do and think he deserves this then he probably does. There is no one that will know more about losing your job, getting one back, and being great than Pederson, who has resurrected the Jaguars.

Other coaches have faith in Nagy, and we should too.
