The Kansas City Chiefs are in some drama. Well, not them. One of their former players thought it would be cool to stir some things up with a former Chiefs coach. That hasn't gone well for him so far.
Eric Bieniemy, a Chiefs coach for the last 10 years, and offensive coordinator for the last five, just made the move to Washington to be an offensive coordinator there, in a way to prove he deserves to be a head coach.
The move comes because some think he can't do it without Andy Reid. But, one former running back, LeSean McCoy, says that Bieniemy won't do well. he said that he won't do well because he virtually does nothing with the offense.
After those comments, you saw Tyreek Hill, Charcandrick West, and Jamaal Charles all disagree. Then Bieniemy was asked about it at his press conference in Washington, and this is what he said:
"He's a future Hall of Fame runner," Bieniemy said. "Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. That's life, You got good, you got bad. It doesn't impact me in any way. The one thing you learn in this position is you have to eliminate distractions. My job is to focus on the now. Everything outside these walls has no impact on Eric Bieniemy moving forward."
But, those aren't the only players who had his back. Patrick Mahomes did too.
He went to Twitter to say, "There should be no questions on how great of a man/coach Coach Bieniemy is. His leadership has had a direct impact on the player/person I am today! 10+ years learning under one of the greatest coaches of all time.. and I cannot wait for him to continue to prove doubters wrong!"
I think that's the guy you have no choice but to listen to. I mean, this is the quarterback, the guy that deals with Bieniemy every day. But hey, what does a two-time MVP and two-time Super Bowl MVP know?
