There's plenty of attention on the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason as they ponder how to replace quarterback Derek Carr.

Las Vegas officially moved on from Carr earlier this month by releasing the veteran quarterback.

Carr has yet to sign with a new team. The Raiders, meanwhile, are still figuring out what life after Carr will look like in 2023 and beyond.

The quarterback position, however, isn't the only area that Las Vegas needs to address this offseason.

Vegas also has a big need at cornerback.

And that's one of the main reasons why CBS Sports named the Raiders as one of three potential landing spots for superstar cornerback Jalen Ramsey (along with the Cincinnati Bengals and Detroit Lions).

Ramsey is expected to be traded this offseason according to recent reports.

From CBS Sports:

Ramsey did go on the record that Vegas would be an "ideal playing situation" in 2019, so there's a good starting point for the Raiders. Las Vegas has significant cap space and a dire need at cornerback, so the time would be right to bring in Ramsey. The Raiders may have moved on from Derek Carr, but there's enough top-end talent to not fully commit to a rebuild. The Raiders can take a chance on Ramsey to improve their 29th-ranked pass defense in 2022.

This scenario makes sense for a few reasons.

For starters, there's a need at cornerback for the Raiders. And then there's the fact that Ramsey has previously stated that he'd like to play for Vegas.

Los Angeles would likely prefer to send Ramsey to an AFC team, so that also works in the Raiders' favor.

The assumption is that the Rams will want at least a first-round pick for Ramsey, who is still just 28 years old.

Las Vegas, however, might not be thrilled about trading first-round picks two offseasons in a row (the Raiders sent a first-round pick and a second-round pick to the Green Bay Packers last offseason for wide receiver Davante Adams).

Ramsey will get $7.5 million in guaranteed money if he's on Los Angeles' roster on March 20. If Ramsey is dealt, it will almost certainly happen before March 20.
