The latest mock draft from Pro Football Network has the Las Vegas Raiders making a big mistake in the 2023 NFL Draft that they must avoid.

It's no secret that Las Vegas needs a new quarterback after moving on from Derk Carr. So it's extremely likely that the Raiders will take one in the draft later this spring.

The problem with the mock draft from Pro Football Network is that they have Las Vegas taking Kentucky quarterback Will Levis with the No. 7 overall pick.

From PFN:

Once the top three quarterbacks are off the board, it could force someone’s hand. If the Raiders can’t move up into the top five to get one of them, they might be forced to settle for Will Levis, which could be good or bad.

Levis has traits that teams like, and there’s a reason why some have him going in the top five. However, there are some concerns that could keep teams away. If a franchise desperately needs a quarterback, though, it might not matter.

This would be a disaster for the Raiders.

Levis has NFL bust written all over him. It's actually shocking to me that he's getting so much first-round hype.

The former Kentucky quarterback has a strong arm and ideal NFL size, but he's a turnover machine who easily gets rattled. He was often seen "pouting" during games when things didn't go his way. That's not the Raider way.

Someone will draft Levis in the first round because of his arm and physical attributes. The Raiders, however, don't need to be that team. They'd be wise to just wait until later in the draft and take a shot on a quarterback with less hype. Some draft classes just don't have an answer at quarterback. And this could be one of those classes.

Vegas doesn't need to reach for Levis or any other quarterback. If one falls that makes sense then go for it (Levis in the middle rounds would be fine), but otherwise, they just need to go with a best player available approach.
