It is no secret that the Indianapolis Colts are in search of a franchise quarterback.

That has seemingly been the case since Andrew Luck abruptly retired a few short years ago. Since then, veterans such as Phillip Rivers, Carson Wentz, and Matt Ryan have tried to fill the void.

Fortunately, this draft class has some quality passers expected to go early in the first-round this April. Bryce Young of Alabama and CJ Stroud from Ohio State have long been established as potential franchise signal callers. Both are likely to be picked within the top-10 selections, if not much higher.

Looking elsewhere, Will Levis out of Kentucky and Anthony Richardson from Florida have gained a lot of steam during the predraft process. The two SEC quarterbacks feature some intriguing traits that point to exciting potential and development.

Richardson, in particular, would be an exciting selection for the Colts. He is a high-risk, but high-reward prospect that features a ton of upside. The risk comes from the fact that he still developing as a passer and has room to grow in the accuracy department.

The reward, on the other hand, comes from the fact that Richardson is a 6-4, 232-pound athlete behind center. He may have the strongest arm in the draft and is a big threat with his legs, as well. There are things that he does on film that no other passer in this class can do.

"His impressive talent gives him the highest ceiling of any quarterback in this class," wrote Dane Brugler of The Athletic.

It's time for the Colts to go big at the quarterback position. Anthony Richardson fits that bill perfectly. And such a move could pay off in a significant way for a franchise looking to make a jump in the AFC.
