The Cincinnati Bengals need a tight end after losing Hayden Hurst to the Carolina Panthers in free agency.

Tight end depth was actually already a need for the Bengals this offseason, but the loss of Hurst magnifies that need.

On Wednesday, I suggested that free agent tight Mike Gesicki would be a good fit for Cincinnati. Bengals cornerback Mike Hilton seemingly agrees.

Hilton tweeted at Gesicki on Thursday morning in an attempt to recruit the tight end to Cincinnati.

Gesicki quickly responded to the tweet saying "No. 88 is available over there now too…".

Hurst previously wore No. 88 in Cincinnati.

It certainly appears that Gesicki is open to the idea of signing with Cincy.

Gesicki would give the Bengals another premier option in the passing game. He would also be a good fit in Cincinnati's shotgun-oriented offensive approach (an approach the Bengals started taking more in the second half of the 2022 season).

The Bengals will have plenty of competition for Gesicki. But if they can find common ground on a deal that makes sense, this is a move that Cincinnati should make.
