The Cincinnati Bengals made one of the biggest splashes of the offseason last week by signing offensive lineman Orlando Brown Jr to a four-year deal.

Brown, who received a $31 million signing bonus from Cincinnati (the largest ever for an offensive lineman), is expected to play left tackle, his preferred position, for the Bengals.

The former Oklahoma Sooners standout will strengthen the Bengals' biggest weakness — protecting Joe Burrow.

Speaking of Burrow, Brown has already spent some time with Cincinnati's superstar quarterback.

Brown and Burrow were both in New York last week. Brown was in the Big Apple for appearances on ESPN and the NFL Network. Burrow, meanwhile, was in New York with Joe Montana on behalf of Guinness Beer.

Brown and Burrow spent some time together in New York in a hotel room where Cincinnati's new left tackle go to know the man he'll be protecting in 2023 a little better.

And Brown came away from that meeting with a realization — Burrow isn't about personal glory, he just wants to win championships.

"He was fired up, just like I was," said Brown during his introductory press conference. "We sat and talked over cheeseburgers, believe it or not, in the hotel room. I asked him a lot of questions about himself, and vice versa, Cincinnati as a whole, the system, scheme, coaches, locker room, all of that. You can tell right away why he's had the success he's had."

"He's not in it for accolades," added Brown. "He wants Super Bowls. I'm in it for the same reason."

When everyone puts winning ahead of personal accolades, special things can happen.

The Bengals are on the cusp of bringing a Lombardi Trophy to Ohio. Adding Brown, a player who shares the same mindset as Burrow and the rest of the team, will only strengthen Cincinnati's odds of winning it all in 2023.

And that should certainly get Bengals fans fired up for this upcoming season.
