The perpetually wide receiver-needy Baltimore Ravens showed interest in a Patriots free agent Monday.

The Ravens hosted Patriots free-agent wide receiver Nelson Agholor, according to the NFL’s transaction wire. Agholor, 29, caught 31 passes for 362 yards with two touchdowns in a part-time role last season. After signing a two-year, $22 million contract with New England in 2021, Agholor caught just 68 passes for 835 yards with five touchdowns in two seasons.

Agholor has 340 catches for 4,246 yards with 31 touchdowns in his eight-year NFL career. His best season came in 2020 with the Las Vegas Raiders before signing with New England when he caught 48 passes for 896 yards with eight touchdowns.

The Ravens lack top-end talent at wide receiver with Rashod Bateman, Devin Duvernay, James Proche, Andy Isabella, Tylan Wallace, Shemar Bridges and Mike Thomas (not the Saints receiver) on their 90-man roster. Their best bet at getting a top wideout is in the draft or if they can trade for a player like DeAndre Hopkins or Jerry Jeudy. Agholor would immediately become one of Baltimore’s top receivers, however.

The Patriots seemingly have moved on from Agholor. They have signed wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and tight end Mike Gesicki in free agency. They lost wide receiver Jakobi Meyers to the Raiders and traded tight end Jonnu Smith to the Atlanta Falcons. New England could use at least one veteran more receiver to join Smith-Schuster, Kendrick Bourne, DeVante Parker, Tyquan Thornton, Lynn Bowden, Tre Nixon and Raleigh Webb on their depth chart.
