NFL writer predicts Chiefs to land former All-Pro WR Michael Thomas
For the Chiefs, it’s all about making Patrick Mahomes happy.
The Chiefs have some decisions to make this offseason, some that are supposed to help them get back to the promised land. One respected NFL writer made a prediction that will only improve their offense on paper.
Kansas City has become a place other players want to come to play in because they are almost guaranteed a more successful season than that player had with his former team. When you join the Chiefs, you instantly have a better chance to play in a Super Bowl than any other team in the league, as they have played in three in the last four years, and won two of them.
That's what happens when you have Patrick Mahomes.
So, guys come to play with Mahomes. Michael Thomas, the former All-Pro receiver could be one of them. Mike Jones of The Athletic thinks the Chiefs have a chance to land a guy who broke the record for catches in a season.
Here is what he had to say in his piece:
As an anticipated cap cut, Thomas would hit free agency after a few injury-plagued seasons, and there are few destinations more attractive than Kansas City, where Patrick Mahomes could use another playmaker to keep this dynasty train rolling.
Thomas was once the best receiver in the league, and could very well still be. But, we don't really know if he could still be that because he has been injured so much.
Thomas has played just 10 games in the last three seasons, as he has dealt with a foot, thigh, and groin injuries all on his right leg, per Draft Sharks. But, before that, he missed just one game in four seasons, and that was his rookie year.
If he can be healthy, there is no telling what this offense could look like.
