ESPN's Adam Schefter responds to Aaron Rodgers' hilarious claim
Aaron Rodgers made a hilarious claim about ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Wednesday
Aaron Rodgers, who is technically still under contract with the Green Bay Packers, revealed on Wednesday during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show that he plans to play for the New York Jets in 2023.
Rodgers told McAfee that he initially thought he was going to retire as he entered his widely discussed darkness retreat.
But after emerging from the retreat and getting back into his workouts, he felt the desire to play. And he didn't feel like the Packers wanted him back in 2023.
While revealing his decision, Rodgers noted that ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter somehow got his number and texted him.
Rodgers said he told Schefter "lose my number".
That apparently wasn't a joke by Rodgers. On Wednesday afternoon, Schefter tweeted the screenshot of the text.
Rodgers takes pride in keeping things private while Schefter takes pride in breaking stories.
I'm sure Schefter knew when he sent the text that Rodgers wasn't going to give him anything, but any good reporter knows you have to shoot your shot or you'll never get the scoop.
