Saints' latest move reunites two old friends
Pretty awesome to see this.
Reuniting players is always one of the coolest aspects of the NFL off-season. For the New Orleans Saints, they just brought together a college combo that lit up stat sheets.
Jamaal Williams is the latest addition for New Orleans. Williams led the NFL in touchdowns as a running back last season, and he will provide great depth for the Saints. Additionally, he already has a phenomenal relationship with a key component of the Saints offense.
Williams played with Taysom Hill during their college days at Brigham Young University.
There will already be some chemistry between Hill and Williams, so expect some packages with them.
They ran a really impressive zone-read offense at BYU, and the Saints would be smart to implement a bit of that with them together.
Their biggest threat could come in the red-zone. Every Saints fan knows the value of Taysom inside the 20-yard line.
As for Williams, he was arguably the best running back in the red-zone a season ago. Williams will also provide more relief for Alvin Kamara to keep him fresh.
In four seasons at BYU, Williams totaled 3901 rushing yards, 567 receiving yards, and 36 total touchdowns. Hill recorded 1,047 passing yards, 2,815 rushing yards, and 65 total touchdowns during his time in college.
The combination of Hill and Williams is both a feel-good story as well as a valuable piece for an offense that needs to improve this season.
