The Dallas Cowboys need more at the wide receiver position, it's that simple.

CeeDee Lamb was the only bright spot at receiver for the Cowboys in 2022 as he tallied 107 receptions for 1,359 yards and nine scores. Besides him, no other receiver reached 600 yards and only Michael Gallup and Noah Brown scored touchdowns, and even then, they combined for two fewer than Lamb had.

One of the best wide receivers in April's NFL draft, Zay Flowers of Boston College, met with the Cowboys at the scouting combine, and when asked by Patrik Walker of DallasCowboys.com what he would look like in the Cowboys' offense, he said this.

"I think it'll add something different," said Flowers. "Because you got two guys that win contested balls a lot, and then you add somebody that's dynamic and be able to move all over the field. So, that'll be great."

On Tuesday, AtoZ Sports film savant, James Foster, put out a video detailing the skills of Flowers, and what he said should pique the Cowboys' interest even more.

"This receiver class has a lot of players that are good route runners and separators but they lack traditional NFL size, and Boston College receiver Zay Flowers is my favorite of those receiver prospects," said Foster.

"At the Senior Bowl, he measured in at just over 5'9" 182 pounds with 29-inch arms. So, it's the same thing with players like Tank Dell (Houston), Jordan Addison (USC), Josh Downs (North Carolina). What you're projecting those guys to be doesn't really exist in the NFL at that size. But I really think Zay Flowers's route-running ability and versatility makes him worth a first-round pick."

Dallas has several needs that they could take care of in the first round like cornerback, running back, linebacker, and offensive line. However, with Lamb and a healthy Gallup (who came back from an ACL tear after nine months last season), adding a threat like Flowers will be hard to pass up with the 26th pick.

Flowers possesses excellent speed which was put on display at the combine when he ran a 4.42 in the 40-yard dash. That's exactly what the Cowboys are lacking at the receiver position, a guy that can take the top off of opposing defenses.

Foster went on to point out some more intriguing traits that Flowers brings to the table.

"Zay Flowers runs as complete of a route tree as any receiver in this class," Foster said. "He separates effectively at all three levels of the field and in college, he split time between lining up in the slot and outside. So, I think he's a fit for a wide range of teams because he offers positional versatility and within whichever team he gets drafted to he can run the entire route tree and be a fully productive member of that offense."

Fast, can run any route, and versatile. That's Flowers in a nutshell.

Cowboys, are you sold yet?

It all comes down to who's available when the Cowboys are on the clock. If Flowers is there, he may be as big of a no-brainer there is especially with what the Cowboys need.
