The New York Giants and Daniel Jones are tied together for multiple years now. Yesterday, the team agreed to terms on a four-year deal with their young QB.

After his best season as a pro, Jones got a pay raise and some financial stability in the long-term with a deal that will average $40 million per season. All of the guaranteed money is in the first two seasons.

Jones discussed the deal and how it went down early on Wednesday.

It's clear that he wanted to stay in New York. He explained how it was a bit stressful to take it down to the deadline, but both sides were working hard to find a middle ground – in a sense.

Jones' price is a hefty one, but it proves that the Giants believe in him as their starter right now. They didn't look to replace him in the NFL Draft or during free agency. They won't do that anytime soon, either, after agreeing to this deal.

Jones also told reporters how the team's situation with Saquon Barkley affected his contract situation. The two players are close.

The first-year cap number for Jones' deal is around $19 million, according to Spotrac

That number isn't too high, compared to many other quarterback deals. It will allow the Giants to maneuver the cap quite a bit win order to fill other holes on the roster.

Giants fans saw Jones improve a lot last season. Bringing in HC Brian Daboll clearly helped to develop Jones.

Hopefully, that will continue in the coming seasons for the Giants.
