Much of the focus surrounding the Dallas Cowboys is on free agency and the NFL Draft. After all, Dallas has some notable roster needs that must be addressed this offseason.

However, one of the bigger moves that the Cowboys may make is with a player already on the roster. Dallas is reportedly working to bring offensive tackle Tyron Smith back on a new deal.

Such a move would be pretty significant for the Cowboys. Smith, even with his injury history, remains a valuable piece to the team's success. His presence alone bolsters the offensive line.

It makes sense for the Cowboys to want to re-work Smith's deal, too. Smith has struggled to stay on the field as of late, not playing until late in the season in 2022. Furthermore, a restructured deal would open up cap space for the Cowboys to make other moves.

Tyron Smith still has the ability to be an effective left tackle in the league. He showcased his versatility when he returned last season by sliding over to the right side after Terrence Steele went down.

With Steele expected to be back in the fold, Smith should slide back to protect Dak Prescott's blindside. Which would then allow Tyler Smith to play the position that he was drafted to play: guard.

All of that would likely have a big impact on the offensive success for the Cowboys next season. Strengthening the offensive line is never a bad idea. Bringing Tyron Smith back on a new deal is the best situation for everybody involved.

This would qualify as a big win for the Dallas Cowboys if they are able to seal the deal.
