Jets player goes to extreme measures to recruit Aaron Rodgers to New York
The New York Jets are emptying their bag of tricks in an attempt to land Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, despite meeting with the New York Jets this week, has yet to inform anyone of his plans in 2023.
Rodgers is still deciding if he wants to play in 2023 and where he wants to play if he decides to return.
The Jets appear to be the frontrunners for Rodgers after flying out to California to see the future Hall of Famer earlier this week.
Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner, a top-five selection in the 2022 NFL Draft, is going to extreme lengths to bring Rodgers to New York.
The 2022 Pro Bowler put out a YouTube video this week that shows him wearing a Cheesehead after beating the Packers last season.
Garnder revealed in the video that he recently spoke with Rodgers and they settled their differences (if there really were any).
The former Cincinnati standout then showed himself burning the Cheesehead.
The Cheesehead quickly melted.
The Jets are certainly going all in on landing Rodgers — even enlisting the services of their young star cornerback to help seal the deal.
Unfortunately for New York, I don't think they realize that Rodgers probably won't be swayed by Garnder's video. Rodgers marches to the beat of his own drum and his decision will be based entirely on how he feels internally, not a silly YouTube video from a cornerback that Rodgers has played against only once.
