The New Orleans Saints are in the middle of making plenty of meaningful decisions. The past week has been busy.

They signed Derek Carr, re-signed J.T. Gray and Juwan Johnson, and interviewed tons of draft prospects. Not to mention, they've been making plenty of book keeping  moves to create cap space.

They just made another important decision.

The Saints will not tender restricted free agent WR Marquez Callaway.

Callaway will hit unrestricted free agency.

He could make a return to New Orleans, but he will have plenty of suitors as an experienced wideout. Callaway was the lading receiver for the Saints in 2021.

He totaled 698 receiving yards with 6 touchdown catches during that season. His role declined last season, though. The emergence of Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed was the reason for that.

Simply put, the Saints do not believe that the restricted free agent is worth guaranteeing the restricted price tag right now. The lowest RFA tender is nearly $3 million against the salary cap in 2023.

Instead, Callaway will be allowed to test the waters as he pleases in free agency with no restrictions.
