One of the biggest questions surrounding the last two offseasons was David Bakhtiari's health and the status of his recovery from the torn ACL he suffered in December 2020.
Based off what he said Wednesday, that won't be the case for both the Green Bay Packers and its fans in 2023.
"I really like how I'm feeling now," Bakhtiari told reporters Wednesday. "I'm not going to put any expectations on it… I think, you know, expectation sets limitations. This is, comparatively, I have finally not had a surgery for the first time in the last two or three offseasons. I had four surgeries in 20 months. That sucked. So, I finally have a breath of fresh air. I get to have an offseason to train, to get away, to finally relax and not freak out my body. Be a dad – it has been amazing. And, just, I mean, spiritually, mentally, physically – I just feel very light. You know, it's been very pleasing and enjoying that and hopefully I can reap benefits from that."
This is obviously a big deal for the Packers and Bakhtiari
The dude was easily the best left tackle in the game before his injury and subsequent complications that arose from it. It'll be interesting to see if he can recapture his pre-injury form, but either way, this helps solidify the line and it obviously helps Jordan Love stay upright.
The Packers' left side of the offensive line is set with Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins and it'll be best left side in the NFL if Bakhtiari can even get back to Pro Bowl form. That will go a long way in helping the offense not only find its identity, but produce at a solid level, in 2023.
