Bills S Damar Hamlin

By now the entire planet knows what happened to Damar Hamlin on the football field.

Hamlin went in for a tackle and then immediately collapsed and suffered a reported cardiac arrest. What ensued felt like the longest event in NFL history. Denny Kellington, a quick-thinking assistant athletic director, jumped into action to perform life-saving CPR on Hamlin. The on-field resuscitation was a big reason Hamlin is alive today.

The moments and images from that day are ones that fans won't soon forget. Everything from that point forward has been nothing short of a miracle, and so much good has come from it. From nationwide initiatives to get AEDs in high schools, to CPR trainings and charitable donations, it's been movie-like.

In another surprising turn of events, two Bills stars were given hall-of-fame honors for their actions on that day. Bills veterans Mitch Morse and Tre'Davious White were comforting one another when a photo was taken.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced that in the annual Photo Contest, judges picked Morse and White for the Dave Boss Award of Excellence. The photo shows Morse holding White on the football field just a short distance away from where Damar Hamlin was receiving life-saving aid.

The image will forever be remembered in the NFL Hall of Fame. The sometimes violent and brutal sport makes inseparable bonds, like a brotherhood, which is perfectly exemplified in this one beautiful image.

Hamlin is recovering and fighting his way back onto the field after being given the green light by his doctors. During OTAs, Hamlin was even able to participate in drills, further cementing his legacy and continuing the incredible story of recovery.

Morse and White are both important leaders in the locker room, it's only fitting that they will be forever remembered for yet another moment of quiet leadership. Bills Mafia has been blessed with some of the very best humans both on and off the football field.
