The New Orleans Saints have had an intriguing offseason. Between an impactful draft on defense and multiple important additions on offense, they've been busy. One big loss to the roster was at linebacker. Kaden Elliss headed to the Atlanta Falcons during the early stages of free agency.

Elliss broke onto the scene last year for the Saints when given a larger role on defense. His run defense had developed quite a bit for his size. Elliss also covered some very goo tight ends in pass coverage. Overall, he recorded 78 tackles, 7 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles. That's legit production to replace for the Saints.

Bucky Brooks of NFL.com thinks that Elliss is due for a 'breakout' season this year for Atlanta.

The former special teams standout created a buzz in league circles last season with his strong performance as New Orleans' third linebacker and emergency fill-in for Pete Werner. Elliss notched six of his seven sacks over the Saints' final nine games, showing the football world that he could thrive as a full-time starter. After inking a a three-year, $21.5 million deal with the rival Falcons, the former seventh-round pick could put up the kind of numbers that make him a household name by the end of the 2023 season.

Now, you could argue that his breakout season happened last year for New Orleans. His production multiplied exponentially, and his impact was clear. Regardless, Brooks believes that Elliss will owe an important player for the Falcons this year.

For the Saints, they will look to D'Marco Jackson, among other depth players, to step up at LB behind Pete Werner and Demario Davis.
