Raiders: Davante Adams has led the NFL in a critical statistical category since the 2016 season

The Raiders star is in a league of his own when it comes to on-field production.

Davante Adams knows his job is to catch touchdown passes.

It is why he easily led the NFL in touchdown catches (14) for the second time in his career, despite the Las Vegas Raiders' offense looking like something out of Friday Night Lights. And that is being generous.

But somehow, dominating touchdown passes is an area of the game not new to Adams. Since 2016, he's led the league in touchdown receptions by a wide margin. It may have been a perk of playing with former Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, but Adams is no slouch receiver. He knows how to score the ball.

Adams' 83 touchdown receptions since 2016 have the NFL looking like a child game, and he is a grown man. The next closest player to Adams is Mike Evans, and he has 66 touchdown receptions.

The Raiders have a wide receiver that is in a league of his own. Now, the team merely has to use him correctly.

When Adams was playing with Rodgers in Green Bay in 2020, he finished with 18 receiving touchdowns. It was a mark that left him tied for third-most all-time in a single season.

Come the 2023 season, Adams is looking to build on the gap between him and the next-best wide receivers in the league.
