The Dallas Cowboys have an elite offense, but coming into the offseason, there were questions about what the offensive line would look like.
All-Pro right guard Zack Martin and center Tyler Biadasz have their spots locked in. What the Cowboys need to figure out is where Tyron Smith, Tyler Smith, and Terence Steele will be in 2023.
Patrik Walker of DallasCowboys.com dropped a little nugget on Tuesday morning. To start minicamp, the elder will be at left tackle, his natural spot, and the younger Smith will be at left guard.
Unfortunately for Steele, he suffered a torn ACL last December. He's currently doing well in his rehab, but head coach Mike McCarthy mentioned that he might not be ready for training camp.
When Steele went down last season, Tyron Smith filled in and did a solid job. However, it was clear that he wasn't as dominant as he's always been on the left side, and that Steele is a better right tackle than he is. So, the best combination as far as the Cowboys' top five offensive linemen were always with Tryon, Tyler, and Steele on the field at the same time.
Tyler Smith proved the doubters wrong in his rookie campaign and played excellent football at left tackle. However, he also played 121 snaps at left guard at looked great which speaks to his versatility and certainly gives the Cowboys comfort if he stays there.
There's still a ways to go, but the Smith boys playing side-by-side with Steele on the opposite end is the best formula for success when it comes to the offensive line in Dallas.
